What is Couch to 5K and Walk to 5K?

With little or no long distance running (or walking) background, Couch to 5K is a fantastic program designed to get just about anyone from the couch to running a 5K in just 9 weeks. The secret is that it’s a gentle introduction to getting the body moving, starting off alternating between walking and running small distances, and slowly building up until after 9 weeks, you’re ready to run a 5k. If walking is more in line with your goal, the Walk to 5K program is designed to help you build up your endurance by slowly increasing the distance over the nine-week program. Click here for the W25K Training Booklet.
